Satkarma (Body Cleansing)
Our school follows all the tradition of yoga So we Start first from the ”cleansing” for internal and external body that is called in sanskrit ”Satkriya” or ”satkarma” , it means 6 types of kriya (cleansing).
1- Dhauti – Dhauti is cleansing of stomach and alimentary canal or digestive tract. we can use three elements for doing Dhauti , 1-water , 2- cloth, 3- air.
We do it with water in the school.
2- Neti Kriya – This type of cleansing for nasal, ear and throat. We use the “Neti pot” and “Thread” and clears the nasal passages and sinuses. It is beneficial for cure the sinusitis, headache, migraine, weak eyesight,watering of eyes after reading, pain in the eyes and throat irritation.
We do it with water and thread
3- Nauli kiriya – Nauli kiriya increase the strengthen and massages to all abdominal organ.
4- Trataka or eye cleansing – This is very useful for removing the problem of eyes. we have two technique for cleaning the eyes-
A- By candle B- By eye cups with amla powder
5- Kapalbhati – It is also pranayama (breathing technique). It purified the blood and remove the defect of lungs. kapalbhati help to maintain the wait of the body and give the massage to all abdominal organ.
6- sankhaprakaslna – This cleansing technique clean entire alimentary canal from mouth to anus. In this technique need to drink two glasses of the salt water as quickly as possible in a sitting position and Perform the following five pose
A – Tadasana Stretch
B – Swing Tadasana
C – Waist Twisting Posture
D – Bhujangasana Twisting
E – Crow Twisting
and then bring out the all water by anus .
Pranayama( breathing technique)
